If you somehow managed to avoid noticing all the political ads, social media bickering and debates about the debates, we’re here to remind you Election Day is this Tuesday.

Weld County voters will vote on Weld County Commissioners and Weld County Council seats.

In Greeley, we’ll decide whether to keep a city-wide sales tax on food which has been in place for decades.

You’ll also see several big statewide issues on the ballot this year, including abortion, taxes, the electoral college and more.

We’ve got interviews with local candidates that you can read here, but we also want to bring you clear explanations of items on the Colorado ballot from the best sources. We’ve compiled a list of articles from some local, trusted sources that will outline state ballot measures, government systems, and more to get you ready to cast your vote.

Here we have a guide to statewide ballot measures put together by our friends at The Colorado Sun. From introducing gray wolves, to repealing the Gallagher Amendment, to limiting abortion, to establishing paid family leave and more, this guide gives you the context you need without the confusing political jargon:

What’s up with all the judges on my ballot? Colorado has a unique system for picking judges. The Denverite worked to explain what that system is and what your yes/no vote means:

We also like to use Ballotpedia when we’re trying to understand what the heck all of this means. Ballotpedia is a nonpartisan source dedicated to outlining ballot issues and explaining what “yes” and “no” votes mean. Here’s an example of a Ballotpedia breakdown of Proposition 114, the reintroduction of grey wolves: https://ballotpedia.org/Colorado_Proposition_114,_Gray_Wolf_Reintroduction_Initiative_(2020)

You can search for any candidate or state ballot issue on Ballotpedia.

For Greeley readers, the lone city issue you will find on your ballot this year is the food tax extension, Item 2I. You can read an explanation of this tax in a story by the NoCo Optimist here:
