Something tasty this way comes – and it’s not just all that extra Halloween candy you’ve definitely been buying for all the trick-or-treaters.

WeldWerks Brewing Co. and Little Man Ice Cream announced a sweet partnership – turning Little Man’s Salted Oreo ice cream into beer – and soon, ice cream and beer enthusiasts could see their favorite WeldWerks beers made into ice cream.

Little Man Ice Cream is based in Denver, but the shop has expanded into sister locations, such as Churn in Olde Town Fort Collins

“After learning about each other’s businesses and how we each approach flavor combinations, we learned that we shared a lot of similarities,” said WeldWerks Innovation and Wood Cellar Lead, Skip Schwartz in a news release. “We both have that out-of-the-box thinking on flavors and creativity but we’re committed to quality above all else, which means that neither company is truly ever done improving on quality and innovation.”

At 6.5% ABV, the Little Man Salted Oreo Stout mirrors its ice cream counterpart with vanilla, Oreos, Salted Oreo ice cream from Little Man, and of course, a dash of salt.

The result, according to the release, is an ice cream stout with a smooth and velvety mouthfeel and a sweetness from the ice cream that is balanced by a hint of salt.

“The process of making beer and ice cream is quite different, but both stem from a proper combination of ingredients to make the best consistency, flavor, and quality product,” said Little Man Ice Cream Company Production Manager, Sarah Hegge in the release.

Other breweries have made ice cream beer already, including Wiley Roots just down the street from WeldWerks. But Schwartz said in the release beer and ice cream enthusiasts should stay tuned, as the brewery would soon be turning a “fan favorite” beer into ice cream as well.

How to get ice cream beer

WeldWerks’ Little Man Salted Oreo Stout will be available at the Greeley taproom Friday, Oct. 22, depending on a quality control release hold.

The beer will also be available in cans and on draft within WeldWerks’ distribution footprint. Check the brewery’s beer finder for more information on availability.
