Greeley’s 2023 Concert Under the Stars lineup

By Dan England

This year’s Concert Under The Stars will celebrate Latino and American music and feature the series’ annual appearance by The Burroughs.

UNC’s popular series features four free Tuesday night concerts in July in its Garden Theater. The series is sponsored in part by the Weld Community Foundation. All of them start at 8 p.m.

Residents should bring blankets, lawn chairs and snacks or drinks. Pets are allowed if leashed.

Here is a schedule of the four concerts:

• July 11 — America’s music takes the first turn with the Colorado Jazz Orchestra. The orchestra forms every summer as a part of UNC’s jazz camps and features renowned faculty as well as many special guests.

• July 18 — Mariachi Los Mensajeros, a Denver band, plays all over Northern Colorado and bring audiences a mix of popular and traditional Latin music.

• July 25 – Members of the Fort Collins music scene play as Salsa Forte  to play a mix of salsa, merengue, cumbia, cha-cha-cha and Latin jazz. Bring your dancing shoes.

• August 1 — The Burroughs, Greeley’s favorite funk band, celebrates its 10th anniversary with its annual performance in the Garden. The Burroughs will likely play classics as well as its wide catalog of original music, including a couple selections from its brand new album.
