Have questions about the COVID-19 vaccine? There’s a hotline for that.

By Kelly Ragan

Let’s face it – the vaccine rollout has been confusing. If you aren’t sure what the deal is, you’re not alone.

It’s been nearly a month since Coloradoans over the age of 70 became eligible for the vaccine. While the state is at the helm of the distribution plans, counties have been responsible for the actual shot-in-arm portion of the rollout.

The signup process has been largely online – something that can be difficult for folks over 70.

According to a report by the Denver Post, some people have even reported being turned away by vaccine providers even though they qualify.

To help with that, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment launched a new call center for folks to be able to ask questions specifically about the vaccine.

Now through the end of January, the vaccine call center will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. through 5 p.m., according to a news release by the state.

Beginning February 1, the call center will be open 24/7.

As it stands, Colorado is in phase 1A and 1B above the dotted line of the vaccine distribution plan, which means frontline health care workers, first responders, and people over the age of 70 are eligible to receive the vaccine.

Earlier this month, Gov. Jared Polis said he was committed to having 70% of people 7 and older vaccinated by the end of February, according to a report by KDVR.
