Looking for a free way to jazz up your Saturday night?

The Nat Wickham Jazz Quartet is set to take the stage at the Out & About concert at Chapunga Sculpture Park at Centerra in Loveland Saturday.

According to a news release, the concert will feature jazz classics and standards from the Great American Song Book, including music composed by or recorded by renowned Black jazz artists such as Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Lee Morgan, Freddy Hubbard and others.

The quartet features University of Northern Colorado professor Nat Wickham on trombone, Brian Casey on bass, Jeff Jenkins on keyboard and James White on drums. In celebration of Juneteenth, tenor Travis Kornegay will join the ensemble to perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

The concert, part of a Fort Collins Symphony pop-up event, will take place at The Great Lawn, found at the northernmost end of the sculpture park. The best place to park, according to a news release, is behind Macy’s for the shortest walk.

Make an evening out of it by exploring the Chapunga Sculpture Park, which includes a 26-acre natural and landscaped garden displaying 82 stone sculptures by Zimbabwean artisans.
