Looking for a classy way to spend your Friday night?
A capella sensation Voctave is set to perform 7:30 p.m. Friday at Greeley’s Union Colony Civic Center.
The group was formed in 2015 by producer and arranger Jamey Ray, according to a news release. The group’s 11 members represent a wealth of diverse backgrounds and musical experiences.
“Every style of singing has its own challenges, and a cappella singers must be masters of pitch and timing,” Ray told Hollywood Soapbox in an interview. “But when you get to sing with the best in the business like I do, it can just be fun, and I don’t have to worry about anything.”
According to Voctave’s website, members have roots in musical theater, contemporary Christian music, barbershop, pop and choral music.
Voctave has more than 150 million online views, and their latest album, “Spirit of the Season, Deluxe edition,” earned a Top 10 spot on the Billboard charts.
According to the release, the group has performed alongside Grammy, Dove and American Music Award recipients including Sandi Patty, Pentatonix’s Kirstin Maldonado, Mark Lowry, David Phelps, and Jody McBrayer.
