Weld Project Connect to provide more than 70 free services, including dental screenings, job referrals, flu shots, haircuts and more Oct. 20

Weld Project Connect, a one-day event providing free health and human care services to folks in need, is set to take place Oct. 20 at Island Grove Event Center in Greeley.

This year, Weld Project Connect will provide more than 70 free services, including dental screenings, hearing tests, COVID-19 vaccinations, credit checks, flu shots, mental health services, voter registration, vehicle inspections, job referrals, resume help, legal counseling, haircuts and more.

“By offering all of these services in one location, people can obtain assistance quickly, at no cost, and with less stress than if visiting various offices separately,” according to the United Way website. “Plus, during the event many guests connect with longer term care and resourcing opportunities that for months afterwards help them address health and livelihood challenges.”

Greeley-Evans Transit will provide free transportation to and from the event, according to a news release.

According to United Way of Weld County, one of the organizations spearheading the event, Weld Project Connect served about 550 people in 2021.

Volunteers are still needed, according to the release.
