Two Greeley breweries announced expansions this week – an impressive feat amid pandemic struggles for many local businesses.

WeldWerks announced it plans to launch an in-house restaurant concept called The Annex at WeldWerks, spearheaded by Tim Meador, former co-founder of The Tramp About food truck.

While The Annex has no set opening date yet, the brewery aims to open by the end of next year.

According to the WeldWerks Facebook page, it also plans to open its Colorado Springs taproom in the first half of 2022.

Despite the pandemic, WeldWerks also announced it has been able to grow from 30 staff members to 50 in the last year and a half.

“Over the last 16 months, we learned how to remain agile, put our people first, and persevere,” according to a news release.

Brix Brew & Tap also announced it bought a building and equipment to expand brewing production.

“In the near future with this expansion, we will ultimately triple our brewing volume,” according to a Facebook post

This will allow the taproom to keep a steady supply of its staple beers on tap in addition to new releases. It will also allow the brewery to expand to off-premise into liquor stores and beyond.
